Funerals

Everyone is entitled to a funeral at their local Parish Church regardless of their association with the Church or their own religious beliefs.

Dealing with the death of a loved one is an especially difficult time, and having to make arrangements for their funeral is an added burden. It is at these times when a person's faith, and supporting prayer are most needed, and can be a source of great strength and help for the bereaved.

You may find it useful to look at information on The Church of England’s website which explains what is involved in a funeral taken by a Church of England minister or priest, whether held in church or at a crematorium.

Even more useful, perhaps, is www.churchofenglandfunerals.org which gives assistance for those organising funerals. There is even a section about how to plan for one's own funeral ahead of time.
